Rustic Cabin Meets Elegant Mountain Escape
Serene Canyon is a custom home built in Sun Valley, Idaho, that showcases the perfect blend of rustic cabin and elegant mountain home. The project was designed with family fun in mind, featuring a unique egg-shaped, custom movie theater and an outdoor pool and spa area built from natural boulders that perfectly compliments the surrounding environment.
Relax and Unwind
The design of Serene Canyon caters to the homeowner’s desire for a family-friendly environment, providing ample opportunities for relaxation and entertainment. The home’s interior features an open, ranch-style design, with high ceilings and large windows that flood the living room and kitchen with natural light. The rustic aesthetic of the cabin is further accentuated by exposed timber beams, hardwood floors, and magnificent stone fireplaces.
Movie Magic
The focal point of the home is the custom movie theater, designed by renowned designer Theo Kalomirakis. The theater’s unique egg-shape design creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere perfect for family movie nights. The red velvet curtains, rich leather, and woodwork hearken back to the great movie houses of the early 20th century when a night at the movies was a glamorous affair. The room is also outfitted with the latest in audio and visual technology, ensuring that the homeowners can enjoy a truly immersive cinematic experience.
Immersive Environment
Outside, the home’s natural surroundings are further integrated into the design, with an outdoor pool and spa area built from natural boulders. The pool’s irregular shape, flowing waterfall, and natural stone accents create an organic design that seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape. The pool and spa area is also equipped with state-of-the-art features, including integrated lighting and sound systems.

Overall, Serene Canyon is a stunning example of a custom home that perfectly balances rustic mountain charm with modern luxury. At Lloyd we’re dedicated to building community and take pride in the lasting relationships we build with our partners and clients. Lloyd built the original Serene Canyon home and completed two additions for the original owner. When the home was sold to a new owner, Lloyd was called upon again to construct a guest house and manage renovations.
